Pintxo tour

During this half-day excursion, you’ll be given the chance to sample some of the very best “pintos” in Bilbao.

For those of you who don’t know what “pintxos” are, please allow me to explain: they are small, often surprising and frequently simply amazing works of gastronomic art that faithfully reflect the high quality of Basque cuisine. In short, they’re tasty morsels (or aperitifs, if you’d prefer) that simply melt in your mouth as you’re preparing to tackle a more-formal, sit-down lunch or dinner. Our “pintxos” however, have absolutely nothing in common with the “tapas” some of you may have tried in the past, believe me!

• This Tour necessarily takes place before lunch or dinner in the evening, starting at either 11 a.m. or 6 p.m., depending on whatever time suits you better.
• I personally will pick you up from your hotel/apartment/cruise ship at the start of the Tour.
• As we stroll through the narrow streets of the Old Quarter of the city, I’ll tell you something about Bilbao’s history as we visit a few of those “secret” spots only we locals know.
• During our Tour, we’ll sample some of the best “pintxos” in the city – washed down with excellent wines, beers and refreshments….
• When the Tour is over, I’ll make sure you get back to your accommodation/cruise ship.
